My son and I have been invited to join Open World Cause on an expedition to a rural village in Kenya to work with Livingstone Kegode at the school he founded, HIP Africa. Located in the village of Kimilili at the base of Mount Elgon, HIP Africa is an independent school which supports underprivileged and orphaned youth in the community.
To say that I am excited would be an understatement. The opportunity to work with, and learn from, education professsionals from a culture other than my own is a privilege. Yet what makes this trip all the more meaningful is that I will be sharing it with one of my own children, to look at another part of the world through their eyes.
Stay tuned!
